Currently Obsessed

Currently Obsessed

My current obsessions include all of these items pictured above! As most of you know, I am on a 90 day shopping ban so I am making a long, long list of items I want when this stinkin ban is overrrrrr!!!!!

I have recently become obsessed with elephants..why? I dunno, but the ones I have been spotting lately are super super cute!

Polka dots and Stripes are still part of my faves as well as monograms!

You Can't go wrong with a fabulous cardi or a scarf that goes with everything.

Boyfriend jeans? The ONLY jeans to wear..comfy AND cute!!

Black studs? So different than pearls or diamonds and I am in love with these Kate Spade ones!

I have yet to try a Peplum shirt, but I can't wait to get my hands on one! This one features an exposed zipper in the back!

These House of Harlow sunnies are on sale right now and I am dyyyyyying because I can't snatch them up! Unique shape, and I LOVE the black tint!

Gap City Flat. They are sooooo comfortable...I have my Sister wearing them now!!

Check out those Polka dot loafers from the Gap...they could make a blah outfit pop in a matter of seconds..just by slipping them on!

Essie always has fabulous colors, and for the Fall I have my eyes on these two!

These are a few items I am currently obsessed with! What are your new obsessions for Fall? I love doing these Polyvore sets of all things I am obsessed with right now..do you like them?!

DIY FRIIIIDAYYYYY!!!

Well I have been super busy as I am sure you all could tell. I have had a move, new job, and three deaths in my family. It has definitely been enough to keep a girl busy! I wanted to start off with an easy DIY idea to hop back in the routine of things! For this Friday, I decided to do a "Plus One Pedicure". Lately, I have been obsessed with the classic Black & White so I decided to go with it on my toes as well! What do you think? I have gotten compliments on it already! Different for sure, but I like!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Routine

Hey! Hope your week has been going great for you! I have been extra busy, and the evening time seems to zip by! I thought I would post a quick blog over my lunch break on my Sunday routine!

Every Sunday I outfit plan..

This is what my bedroom looks like on a Sunday evening...I find that mornings are so much less hectic when I can walk into my closet and see an outfit sitting there planned down to the jewelry I want to wear!

Voila! No more "Oh crap I am late because I am standing in a closet full of clothes, but have nothing to  wear!"

Happy Monday!

Hello! Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday, I know I did! First off, I got to meet my classroom kiddos today and I fell in love with each one of them! They are so sweet and I can't wait to watch them grow and learn this year! Here is my Monday fashiondiaries:

A simple cardi, LOVE tee, and coral flats! I try to be practical in my outfits for the fact that I am chasing kids around outside at recess, on the floor, helping my kids to be independent at the lunch table (which totally messes with my OCD when I see half the food on their forehead and the other half on the floor..I know it will get better though!) Sometimes I just want to throw on a skirt or dress or wedges and I take a risk for one day! If you follow me on IG, you know the story behind this picture as to why I am  in the grass with my Sophie girl. (@kml88)

Also, last night I posted this picture on IG, and I can tell it was a tease for a few of you! I posted this picture, took a shower, went to bed..so thats why I didn't post the recipe right away! As I told a few of you on Instagram I modified a recipe that I found on pinterest...First off, I will give you the original recipe, then I will post how I modified it. I converted the sugar measurement to Truvia measurement since I drink sweet tea so much, I didn't want to pump myself full of "real" sugar!

Original Recipe:

Ingredients -
5 - 8  Family size Tea Bags. (or 12 regular Tea Bags)
( I prefer  #1 Luzianne or  #2 Liptons Brand Teas.)
1 Quart  (4 Cups) - Boiling Water
3 Quarts (12 cups) - Cool Water
1 1/2 - 2 (one & a half) - Cups Sugar.
1/4 teaspoon - Baking Soda (this IS the SECRET Ingredient!!)

Directions -
1.  Sprinkle baking soda into a pitcher (I use a gallon-size Mason Jar but many people have voiced concerns about pouring boiling water into a glass container, so use whatever container you'd like)
Add Tea bags to the pitcher/baking soda,
Pour Boiling water over tea bags,
Cover and allow to steep for 15 minutes.

Kyleigh's Modified Recipe:

6 tea bags (luzianne)
4C boiling water
10 C cool water
1/2- 3/4 C Truvia (3/4 if you want it more sweet) I added the sugar to the boiling water which eliminates any sugar crystals gathering at the bottom of the pitcher!
1/4 t baking soda

Follow the rest of the recipe as is!

FINALLY...A DIY Friday!

Hey everyone, I hope you had a wonderful week! I have missed doing the DIY Fridays and thought I better get back on track quick! This Friday I tried a coffee face scrub and loved it, so of course I wanted to share it with you!

Mix:
1 C fresh ground coffee
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 C salt
1/2 cup coconut oil

Add the coconut oil then microwave the mixture for 10 seconds at a time until the mixture gets nice and moistened!

Massage into face and then let set for five minutes..rinse,  and voila!!
{And in case you were wondering...yes it tastes like salty coffee}

Also here is my open house fashiondiaries! I absolutely LOVE this "Winnie Pant" from J.Crew. They come in this amazing color, black, or gray! They have the perfect fit to where yes, it looks like I am dressed up in dress pants, but I don't feel that way at all. For a Preschool teacher, that is key! The lace top and fun elephant necklace are both from J.Crew as well! The jean jacket (It is freezing cold in my classroom)  is from American Eagle ...High school years. The flats are VERY comfy, from Payless!

Have a fun weekend, you will hear from me again MONDAY! XXO~K

Update!

Hello there! I have had a semi insane week this week! I started my new job, and it has been exciting yet exhausting! I absolutely love it and can't wait for the kids to start school! I have been working away getting the room all ready for tiny people to come and break it in.

Shopping Ban: so far, so good! I have survived many temptations.. a cousin that WORKS at TJ, my Sister coming to shop, getting rewards money to TJ and Nordies, etc. etc. etc.  I have however been put on a 60 day shopping ban instead of a 90! WOO HOO!! Brett thought I wouldn't make it to 90 days and didn't want me to fail. I may still prove him wrong, it just depends on how much super cute Fall items I come in contact with. My new date is September 16th...and its already August, so I know I can win this challenge!

For those of you that are new to the blog.. I am a preschool teacher, so my outfits are very comfortable, colorful, functional, and most of all AFFORDABLE. Here are a couple of my favorite type of outfits for a typical day of teaching..

Cardigan: Target
Top: 5.00 Old Navy
Flats: Gap
Skinnies: A tiny hole in the wall boutique
Monogram necklace: moonandlola.com (I get asked everyday where this is from!)

Petal Pink top: Gap
Skinnies: Mint green Matchstick cords, J.Crew
Flats: Minnetonka..comfiest EVERRR
Sunnies: Tory Burch

I must confess...my closet is filled with cardigans and skinny jeans..and flats!

Oh and who has missed DIY FRIDAYS?? I know I have, so that shall resume TOMORROW!! XXO~K
