Do It Yourself Friday!

Hey everyone, hope you have had an amazing week! Like many of you know, every Friday I do a DIY recipe that I have tried and liked! Today I will be giving you the recipe for at home pore strips. Let me tell ya..THEY WORK! Before I give you the recipe, I first have to tell you a funny story that goes along with it.

It was my friend's bachelorette party and I was in charge. I decided to go with an at home spa theme and fix up different things for the girls to try. On the list were these pore strips. We all washed and prepped our face, then lightly smeared the mixture all over. During the 15 minute wait we all started to panic. We couldn't move our faces, we couldn't smile, anytime we tried to make a facial expression we all screeched in pain! We then started the peeling process which took well over an hour and reshaped some of our eyebrows in shapes we didn't necessarily want.  It was hilarious and scary all at the same time (remember it was the night before our friend's wedding!) Finally we helped each other peel everything off and we all had glowing, clean skin. It also removed the hair from our upper lip, so this could be used for that as well!

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Do not smear all over face (we were aiming to shrink every pore on our face...not.a.good.idea)

Use the mixture just for your nose and GLOB it on. You want it to be pretty thick so it will peel off easier..I just tried it again today and had no problem peeling it off!

DO NOT AND I REPEAT.. DO NOT GET THIS ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR EYEBROWS!

You have been warned..now enjoy!!

Pore Strips

1TB Gelatin

1 1/2- 2 Tablespoons of Milk (I used regular ole Milk)

Microwave 10 seconds

Apply immediately

Let dry 15 minutes and peel off

Follow up with your lemon toner and voila...at home face care!!!

Let me know who tried this WITH pictures sent to classyclosetconfessions@gmail.com and you may just get a fun little gift sent to you!!

Rainy Day Fashion

Its a rainy day here in Kansas and it got me thinking about how you can still be fashionable AND practical even on a rainy day! It is so easy to feel so BLAH on a day filled with gray clouds, bad hair and puddles. So here is what I suggest...throw your hair into a bun or fun braid, slip on some super cute rain boots, rain coat and grab your trendy umbrella! Here are some super affordable sets I created on Polyvore which you can find all the info and prices here .

What do you guys think? Most of the items in the set are from TARGET! I was so close to buy a super cute raincoat this weekend and talked myself out of it...now I have a lake in my backyard since it has been raining allllll day! haha oh well!

Shop 'Til You Drop!

This is my life motto. FOR REALS! Anyway Saturday I headed up North to the city for a little shopping and some fun! I found some awesome stuff that I can't wait to share with you in upcoming outfit posts! I also had my first Goodwill experience and it was pretty fun. I found something so awesome but it deserves its very own blog post! My favorite place to shop is TJ MAXX I have never gone into that store and came out with nothing! Believe me, ask my Husband. This weekend I found some awesome Ray-Bans that were HALF PRICE..I have been eyeing these for a while and have come so so close to paying full price and I have stopped myself...good things come to those who wait right? haha!

Ray Bans half price...need I say more?!

I have a shoe fetish.  I found some great deals on these shoes and I am sticking to the story that these are not similar shoes whatsoever they are totally different therefore I needed all four pairs of shoes!

Top left: TJ MAXX 35.00, Top Right: Payless 20.00 a far cry from the price of these exact wedges at J.CREW (I still love ya J.CREW!) Bottom left: 20.00 at TJ (clearance!) Bottom right: 30.00 at Payless and they are soooooo comfy!!

Saturday shopping outfit! I went for comfort but also wanted to feel cute! I bought this shirt and top from a little boutique where I live. I can almost always find something cute there! Blue flats are from the Gap that were on major clearance! I rarely pass up flats on sale.

Sunday I picked the cap-toe nude and black heels to wear. I paired them with my pink jeans, leopard print belt and denim chambray shirt. I also did a fishtail braid and popped it all with my turquoise.

I had a great Saturday full of shopping and finding awesome deals! Where is your favorite place to shop? I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Target. They have gotten so good at stepping up their line of clothing! XXO HAPPY WEEKEND! ~K

Friday = DIY

For todays DIY beauty tip the theme is LEMONS! The first recipe I absolutely love is a lemon and water toner for your skin! It shrinks your pores and gives you a healthy glow! I use it every night after my shower and it makes my skin feel so fresh! A friend on Instagram shared it with me and she has gorgeous glowing skin!

1 cup of water with a half of a lemon squeezed in it. I like to keep this in the fridge because it feels extra cooling and soothing to my skin!

Next up is Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub! I have given out so many Mason jars filled with this and every single person has loved it! I gave it out as Christmas gifts and I also did a DIY Spa theme for my friend's bachelorette party and it was a hit!

2 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 Tablespooons of lemon juice

You can scrub wherever you want! I scrub my legs, arms and feet with this as well! If your skin is extra dry I suggest using a bit more EVOO

Enjoy! Please let me know if you tried these DIY tips and liked them! I personally love them! Have a great weekend!

P.S thank you so so much for the support you have already given me! I haven't even had the blog up a week and I have gotten a lot of support! XXO~K

The Colored Denim Trend...

I have to be honest with you, at first I thought the colored denim trend was cray! It took me straight back to grade school when I wore colored jeans with a matching top and scrunchie! After seeing spring look books from J.Crew and Anthropologie I instantly started figuring out ways to recreate their look  and make it more affordable! You know how I said I am a Pre School teacher..well today I got mud all over my pants during recess...glad these are only 45.00!

Today I broke out my pink skinny jeans from American Eagle and paired it with my chambray denim shirt from Target, with some nude oxfords! What do you guys think of the colored denim trend? I really want a light pink, yellow and an orange pair!! They are so fun for spring and so much pop to an other wise boring outfit!! Imagine this outfit without the pink skinnys...boring right?!!

Here are some looks from Polyvore I created..

I think the colored denim adds so much to these outfits that would otherwise be worn with the usual denim! Let me know if you have any questions about these outfit sets or anything else!!! If you try the colored denim email me pictures at classyclosetconfessions@gmail.com and I will feature you on the blog and give you a little thank you gift for participating!

Spring is in the Air!

I don't know what the weather is in your neck of the woods but here in Kansas it is a beautiful, sunny, Spring day! Today I wanted to talk about a few Spring trends. Pastels, lace and florals are one of the biggest hits this Spring season. I love it because it makes me feel so girly and feminine. I put a few outfits together that I thought screamed Spring attire..

The one thing that you can count on me doing is putting together super cute, on trend outfits that won't break the bank! Now don't get me wrong, I love all the top brands that are out there but I have to be realistic since I am a Pre School teacher and it just wouldn't be wise to wear an $80.00 shirt to school!

The first look is a flowery top from J.Crew (which is on sale right now!) paired with some pink skinnys that you can find at American Eagle and then I added a little flair with some leopard print flats! A cute but casual look for running errands on a Saturday!

The second look is a lacy top (I have seen a lot of lacy tops at TJ Maxx that are very reasonably priced) paired with boyfriend jeans (20 bucks at Old Navy) and some super cute floral pumps (35.00 at Wetseal). This look would be great for a casual date night or Sunday brunch with the Fam!

The third look I put together is an ultra comfy look without being in sweats and a sweatshirt...which I have NOTHING against! A pastel plaid shirt (15.00 from Old Navy) yellow skinnys that you can find at American Eagle and Toms! (no wardrobe is complete without some Toms!)

Here is how I put together a spring outfit from some of the things that were already in my closet! I haven't had time to do my Spring shopping yet..

light pink J.Crew cardi paired with a sea green tank, skinnys and nude flats!

I hope this has helped get your closet ready for SPRING! I will be going through more Spring trends this week! Before I forget, I wanted to give you the rundown on what my Blog will be like: Monday through Thursday I will mainly be talking about outfits..putting some together, talking about what I wore that day, any good deals I spy for you etc. on Fridays I have designated that day to be all about DIY beauty recipes that I have tried and liked! I figured that would be a good Friday post so over the weekend you too can try them out and fill me in on how you liked it! Saturdays and Sundays will be hit or miss posts I have decided that I probably won't be fully committed to those days since those are my FAMILY days! Sound good?!

Oh P.S I have had a few questions about how to become a follower on my blog...there should be a pop out button on the right hand side of the screen that you can click and become a follower! I truly appreciate all the support I have gotten already!

XXO,

K

WELCOME!

So I wanted to start off by introducing myself! My name is Kyleigh, I am 23 years old, lover of Jesus, married, 2 furbabies, very much a family person, passion for all things glam and fashion, lover of TJ Maxx, photography, starbucks and SHOPPING!

I have forever been creating outfits! Before I was a year old one of the first words that came out of my mouth was MALL!! I have been shopping since I was a baby...thanks to my Mom and Granny! I can remember getting out of school and immediately heading to the nearest Mall for a little shopping adventure.. shopping is in my blood!  At the age of 3 my parents video taped me modeling a new outfit on the coffee table. In high school I got best dressed out of my senior class, and to this day I have people begging me to be their personal shopper...and to all those people, I absolutely would love to do that for you. To say I have a passion for fashion is an understatement. I am always searching out people in public wishing I had the guts to go up to them and offer a makeover, fix their  outfit and send them on their way. I have been asked by several different people lately to leave my other blog behind and focus solely on fashion, outfits and glam. I hesitated for the longest time...would I have readers, would it be worth my time, are my outfits really that inspiring? Finally, on a boring Saturday afternoon I felt this huge urge to DO IT, go for it, see how it goes...why not? This is absolutely something I LOVE!

The point of this blog is to inspire people to step out of the box. I will answer any questions or help put together any outfit you need help with. I set up an email JUST for this, it is classyclosetconfessions@gmail.com please feel free to email me questions, send me pictures of that sweater in the back of your closet that you won't wear but can't bring yourself to get rid of. I would be happy to figure out a cute spunky outfit just for YOU!

XXO,

Kyleigh
